At the corner of Jalan theatre, hardly notice until when you saw a lot of people and cars parked right in front of the corner shop. That's the one we are looking for - Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fa.

Tau fu fa here is smooth and fresh. They opened at 10.00am and while stocks last. I believe, by 2-4 pm, they should be able to close shop. To avoid disappointment, be there early to taste the fresh tau fu fa or soya bean.

Price wise, i guess 1 bowl/glass of tau fu fa or cincau at rm0.80 is still consider reasonable. Take away service is also available.

They make their name famous on the local newspaper. Friendly service by the owners ( Tan family) and the staffs.

I'm truly a dim sum lover.

Some said, one must dine in Foh San dim sum in Ipoh, even though they are plenty of dim sum shops available in Ipoh town. Foh San restaurant had been relocated to its new building near to the Excelsior Hotel in Jalan Leong Sin Nam. Some bloggers still posted their old address.

Talk about dim sum, normally what we saw are the ladies pushing a trolley carrying a choice of dim sum from steamed item to deep dried item for customers to choose from. As usual, we point finger and select what we want..."This! this! this! and that!". At that moment. i have forgotten my diet plan.We ordered some such as yam paste with meat, pork bun, steamed pork ribs and also pork dumpling.

They even set a take away counter for the convenience of the customers to drop-off and take away.

New outlet of Foh San provides a comfortable and warmth environment for customers to spend a relaxing morning while enjoying delicious dim sum. This outlet is always crowded with local and the tourists. You must go earlier to get a table, as they are always busy with a heavy customers flow even during weekdays.

It's time for fun!

Our International delegates from all over the world entering Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach at 7.00pm. Most of them dressed in green, as per our Theme " Green Up. Save Lives". We are hoping to raise health awareness to the mankind and to save the mother earth.Guests are awesome in the party when the party music is on. They wish the night is always young!

Fireworks brighten up the sky as the singer, Linda sang " I LIKE K-LINK", where everybody sings and dance together. Linda is a very professional singer. She has a high vocal and good voice. She dedicated my favorite song named "I'll always love you" by Whitney Houston to me! All guests are amazed.

It's time for fun games. Emcee conducted the game on stage. There are 6 participants are invited on stage. They have to blow away the flour and dig out as much as candies in the plate with their mouth before the music stop.
The committee who put in so much hard work and time to make this event a success. Thanks and Bravo! Not forget to extend my appreciation to Sunway Lagoon who has a strong team given us full support and help.

Another event highlight during the party is the The Best Green Costume contest. As we can see, there are guests who really dress up creatively especially ladies who came from Thailand, Vietnam and Poland. The winner goes to Vietnam contestant.

To organize a party is never be a easy job. Some people find it fun, some find it challenging. For me, as long as any jobs or events assigned to me, i will definitely handle them close to perfection, ( even though there is no perfect thing in the world) from conceptualize, planning, program briefing, set up and execution. However, to have a team and strong team work is another important key to a wonderful event.

K-LINK Int' 10th Golden Years Anniversary 2010e

K-LINK International is celebrating its 10th golden years in Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC).

The committee had been preparing for this big day months ago. The entrance ticket to the plenary hall have been sold out far before the actual day. Due to the overwhelming response, the Management had decided to use satellite broadcast the event in the plenary hall to another hall at the mezzanie floor so that more people will be able to join and witness the grand event.

Our delegates from all over the world filled up the Convention Center in the early afternoon.
The plenary hall is fully occupied even before the event starts at 8 pm.
Dance performance " Black or White" by Michael Jackson and group.
The Committee who put in so much hard work to make this event a success. Can see that everybody has a dark eye circle. We sleep less! we eat less! just for the big day. At the end of the event, we are happy and satisfy.
The program ended at about 1.00am. When all lights are dimmed and darken, i guess, i'm almost the last to leave the venue.

Cameron Highlands is one of the most popular highlands retreat in Malaysia and normally this place will be swamped by a lot of tourists either from other states or other countries. This place is surrounded by lush untouched greenery with a climate reminiscent of a cool spring day, is the perfect place to gain sweet relief from the pressures of the city with the one you love.

We took a short walk of 174M up to the BOH Tea viewing point where this is a place to allow us overlooking the magnificent tea filled valleys, while enjoying the cool breeze. Take a stroll through lush tea bushes with non-stop of photo taking. Unfortunately due to its rest day on every Monday, we were unable to discover the process of transforming tea leaves into a delicate brew that tantalises the palate. We went on the wrong day!

Cactus Valley is one of the biggest and most popular tourist destination located at the cool mountains of Brinchang, Cameron Highlands. Not only cactus, there are also a lot of varieties of flowers are available for sales. Have a look! If you're not intend to buy, it's ok, just stop by to take as much as photos you like.

When the night dawn, after having steamboat dinner, we visited the chrysanthemum farms. I learned something new when the local farmer lead me through the farms. To enter into the private farms, one must drive a 4x4 car to go through a rough and narrow trunk road. Sound adventurous huh!

To make the chrysanthemum grows faster and taller, they have to be grew under the yellow light bulbs at nite. It took about 3-4 months to grow tall and ready to harvest. This upcoming batch are preparing to be supplied for Chinese New Year.

Flowers are ready to be distributed to the market. A sea of flowers which consist of many colours. I was so excited!

This kind of vegetable is famous among the locals and its easy to be found along the road side. This is nice to cook with balacan or white fermented tau-fu. On top of that, you must also try the cameron sweet corns. Can eat it raw without putting them into the wok. Yummy!

Cameron is famous for its big and sweet strawberries. We bought 2 packets at RM10. We finished all on the way back home.

Steamboat in the cool spring day is something enjoyable. They are plenty of shops which offering steamboat with all type of soups such as herb, tom yam and so on. Finally,we decided to try the charcoal steamboat.

I enjoyed the 2 days holiday gateway in Cameron Highlands. Frankly speaking, i found the hard time to travel up to Cameron as the journey is too tough and too many turning points. Luckily, i didn't vomit throughout the journey.

Birthday dinner at Elegant Inn Hong Kong Cuisine 雅轩Restaurant.

This was happened in April 2010 during my birthday. My eldest brother suggested to try the food here. This restaurant started its business in one of the discreet corner of Cheras. They serve Hong Kong cuisines with added touch of finesse.

This place is ideal for family gathering, business partners or any celebrations. There are VIP rooms and even open terrace night view facing KLCC.

For food wise, there are some signature dishes that highly recommended to food connoisseurs. For example, Mud Crab with salted egg yolk, Homemade tofu and salt and pepper HK Silver fish.

I personality like the Malay kuih. It's so tasty, fresh, soft and rich with Marjorie smell. Even though it's easier to melt in the mouth but the taste will last even longer in the mouth.

Pho 24 is a pho restaurant chain serving great Vietnamese pho noodle dishes. It has opened 73 outlets in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Binh Duong, Jakarta (Indonesia), Manila (Philippines), Seoul (Korea), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Australia and Hong Kong.

This shop is opened 24 hours daily. They are famous with noodle soup with either beef or chicken. On top of that, they serve different type of snack food such as Vietnamese spring rolls.

I like to drink a cup of Vietnam Coffee every morning in Hanoi. Perhaps, i don't drink coffee in KL. This is because i need coffee to zest up the rest my day in Hanoi.

This is a very local lunch at the road side.

This is how they prepare the food. Moreover, there are renovation is going on next door. I saw the dust lying on the tables and chairs.

Van Anh invited us for dinner at her house. She prepared a simple dishes for the night. According to the local, the pork and chicken in Hanoi are tastier than Malaysia. No doubt, i like the pork here, but not chicken. The chicken meat is too dry and skinny.

Hanoi is famous not only for its Vietnam coffee but also peanuts. The old lady in the picture below is the founder. Yes! I agreed that the peanuts here are crunchy and tasty. I brought a lot for the company staffs.

This stall serves famous beef noodles. Van Anh highly recommended this stall. However,
i have to agree with her.

Event in Hanoi July 2010

Once again, i flu to Hanoi for their actual event. Before departure, TV news announced that "Hanoi - Tropical storm Souderler brought heavy rains to Vietnam's northern coastal provinces on Monday, flooding Hanoi and causing traffic jams."

It was reported the tropical storm hits Sunday night after soaking the coastal provinces of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. In fact, all of us are worried about the heavy downpour will make the event called-off. Luckily, the storm just passed by Hanoi, and it didn't bring havoc to the city. Of course, the event was managed to complete.

Before the downpour, i rushed to the hall to monitor the set up.

There are about 50 university students volunteered to help out as our working committee taking up different tasks. I have difficulty to communicate with them, but luckily there are a few who can do translation for me.

I have a sleepless night worried about the weather condition. But, luckily the weather is beautiful. It was a beautiful Sunday. I felt relief.

I met the local celebrity& singer emcee, Mr Thanh Trung. People are crazy about him. For those who interested to know who is he, you can "google" him. But all are in Vietnamese Language.

The program started as we planned. Everything run smoothly. Thanks GOD!

Hanoi : Seafood at the road side ( Vietnam)

After the food poisoning incident in Bandung, Indonesia, I'm very alert of my food intake when i travel, especially in developing countries.

When the local friends strongly recommended to eat seafood at the road side, i felt a bit worry due to the hygiene concern. Surprisingly, when i saw the delicious seafood served one by one in front of me, i can't resist to say "NO!".

Look at the photos i taken below, especially the crabs. My left brain stopped me eating due to high cholesterol, but my right brain insisted to eat more and more!!!

Everybody is sitting at the small tables and chairs for the mouth-watering seafood dinner. No doubt, big size like me, i felt uncomfortable, but, yet i must show my thumbs up for the fresh seafood they served.
Such a small table! Diners can throw away whatever they don't want on the floor. It's ok to do so!

I like this!! so tasty and fresh. After the meal, i felt so guilty. This is because, i think i really ate too much.
If anyone of you happen to be in Hanoi, you must try the local seafood at the road side. It's a very good experience!

This is a fine dining restaurant which serves Vietnamese and Asian cuisine. Upon arrival, we were invited to a VIP room at the 3rd floor, where i saw a beautiful long table with full table setting.

The food is fantastic. I personally like the tofu with salted egg, spring rolls dipped with strawberry salad sauce, pork and the steamed prawns.

Ah Khenh brought me to Marina Cafe for buffet lunch. Ah Khenh was a local tour guide who can speak mandarin. This restaurant serves local Vietnamese food.

This restaurant caters for a lot of overseas guests such as Taiwanese and Malaysian. The local friends told me that the chicken and pork that served in Vietnam are more tastier than Malaysia. So i must try it.

On top of what i shown in the photos, there are also many other varieties to choose from, i.e. grill station, steamboat ingredients, local desserts and just name a few.

I'm a small eater. Therefore, i only choose to eat something i fancy. After lunch, i ordered a glass of my favorite Vietnam coffee. What a good day when i can enjoy my coffee at al fresco.

the Making of Pumpkin Dessert

I like pumpkin dessert. My mum can make a good one.

1. Select a golden pumpkin from the market.
2. Boil the pumpkin in the hot water until it becomes soft and melty.
3. Remove the skin and blend the pumpkin with a blender.
4. In the mean time, prepare hot water.
5. Once everything is ready, pour the pumpkin into the hot water and cook for about 30 minutes. Do not let it unattended. Watch out for the fire.
6. At the end, mix with sugar and also sago.
7. Turn off the fire and let it cool down.
8. Serve best when it is cold.
9. Taste better when mix with 1 spoon of milk.

Lim Moi Kui Hills, Tawau

My uncle told me that he and the Hakka Hh members like to hike at Lim Moi Kui Hill. The name of the hill seem like a stranger to me. Therefore, i joined my uncle, together with my siblings. Gona find out what is so special about this place in Tawau.

According to my uncle, there are two routes. One is easier, another is tough. Guess what! i choose the simple one which required us to take one hour to reach the summit. There are a lot of pumpkins lying at the road side. I'm so excited to see it. Initially, i thought this was a watermelon, but in fact, that's was a huge pumpkin.

Half way towards the summit, we can view a sea of green oil palms trees, as well as partly of Tawau city. Unfortunately, we can't manage to reach the top due to the up coming soon down pour. We have to rush down the hill and back to the shelter.

It's fun!!

1. Lobby cafe in Promenade Hotel, Tawau:

My uncle is strongly recommend that this cafe served the best cheese cake in town. For a try, we have our afternoon tea here.
Here are our orders: Green Tea cake, Coffee Cheese cake and also durian cheese cake. I personally like the coffee cheese cake. where else, the drinks served here are ordinary. It doesn't carry the strong aroma of latte or coffee.

2. Hai Chui Restaurant 海翠餐馆:

I think this is the only chinese restaurant which serve dim sum.

3. Mui Lok Kopitiam 美乐茶室 :

In Tawau, the locals like to meet up at the kopitiam not only for the tea and food, but also chit-chatting on all sort of topics from politic to entertainments.

I like the teh C and also the toast bread. This is because they put a thick layer of kaya and marjerin in the toast. You can't get this in KL, which only served with a thin layer of marjerin.

4. Kedai Kopi Boloi 宝来:

This shop is famous for its braised fish head and dumpling. Every body in Tawau knows it. Don't worry if you can't find the way, just ask the local.

Food Gossip: OLE OLE Bali & Restoran Chardin Seaview Village Port Dickson

Friends gathering at Ole-Ole Bali, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. We ordered one of the main course is the Ole-Ole Trio, which is a combination of Ole-Ole BBQ chicken wings, sate Lilit and cumi-cumi goreng, served with sambal matah, sambal terasi and tartar sauce.

I like Balinese food, due to the heavy taste from the Indonesia spice and herbs.

Restoran Chardin Seaview Village Port Dickson:
If you go to Pork Dickson, you can try to patron this seaview restaurant. They are famous for all type of crabs.

Thumbs up also to the steamed apple snails, with a special in-house made chili sauce.

I love the shark fin soup. I must give a 5-star to it. Why? Normaly, the shark fin soup that we tried have a less shark fin and carb meat. But, this is so much better. I guess, they charged RM20 per bowl is reasonable.

Happy Birthday at RakuZen, Desa Parkcity

生日也是母亲在生死边缘争扎的日子. 因此, 此日我应该庆祝我老一岁,还是应该庆祝母亲的伟大?

一年才吹一次生日蛋糕, 要吹得用心用力才好. 第一次品尝和牛, 肉不旦有弹性,而且放在口中时,香味慢慢散开在口腔, 然后细细品尝它的汁, 甜而新鲜! 让人回味无穷.

几片和牛肉送上来时还是生的, 我们可以自己决定它的熟度. 如果过分太熟就会糟蹋了和牛肉的味道, 因此牛肉要吃7分熟才可口. 就这几片和牛肉是RM68.

另外, 这一道Hotate Mentai (RM26+) 也不错, 浓脓芝士铺盖在蚝上, 然后烘出来的味道相当的香. 放人口时, 芝士味和蚝的味道各占优实. 反而, 以下两道就比较逊色, Saba 就带有腥味, 好吃的是Saba鱼肉应该香甜而不臭腥的. 而Soft Shell Crab (RM22++) 就太咸了, 而且炸得不够香脆.

好丰富的一餐, 希望天天可以吃的开心.

Legend Water Chalet, Port Dickson:

Take a short break to Port Dickson, this is where i stay in Legend Water Chalet.

The Resort consists of 280 unique sea front resort rooms and 112 service suites facing the Straits of Malacca.

I'm so excited. This is because i thought that i can face the straits of Malacca from my room or the balcony. But, once i open the door, i saw only another block of water chalet. I guess, if i book a suite room, i should have a full seaview.

The resort is maintainaned very well, with the friendly staffs and clean environment. This is non-peak season, therefore, i can't see many tourists here, except a group of tourist from China.

I didn't put on my bikini and jump into the swimming pool. They have a outdoor hot and cold jaguzzi. Unfortunately, both are closed for maintainance. End up, i have to soak in the bathe tub inside the room. It's fun too, with a glass of red wine or sparkling juice.

During the breakfast at the coffee house, there is a small drama happened where a chinese lady complaint to the tour guide that she waited at the noodle/mee station for so long and yet no body attended to her. At the end, she had to blanch a bowl of noodles by herself. When the tourguide explained to her that this is a self-service counter, she still feel unsatisfied with it. She gone back to her seat with a sour face and mumbled sacastically to her husband: " What a 5-star hotel that required guest to make a bowl of noodle by ourself!".

If you wish to find more info about this place via google, honestly there are not many relevant info for reference.

We drove 1.5hrs to Semporna. This is the place we stopped by to take our lunch. Maybe due to CNY festive, there are some seafood which are not available for order. At the end, we ordered sweet and sour squids ( RM28/400g), steamed ikan putih (RM32/ 300g) and also butter prawn (RM 28/ 400g).

I saw a lot of starfishes in the water!

Abalone is always consider a luxury food to be served during wedding banquet or special occations in Chinese community.

Ah Yatt is not only famous for its signature dish - Abalone, but they also serve high quality of dim sum. I tried the premium abalone set lunch (at RM148/ person). At the same time, they have special promotion of abalone noodles at RM28.

The fresh abalone set consists of a starter, continued with a bowl of buddha jump over the wall soup, braised abalone served with seacucumber and chinese mushroom, cod fish and completed with a almond dessert.

King Crab Restaurant:

This restaurant is located near to Kelana Jaya LRT station.

They offer all kind of fresh seafood, as long as you can name it, they have it. However, crabs are the main signature dish in King Crab. To my surprise, this restaurant served a high quality and fresh seafood with a reasonable price.

We ordered stir fried Japan top shell (RM17), Salt & Pepper mantis prawn (at RM17), with a special king mee (at RM8.00). I would like to go again next time to try their different dishes!

When was the last time i stayed in The Villa? That's should be 4-5 years ago. Now, i'm back again! I love this place, for its privacy and tranquility.

The Villa is nestled amidst the lush greenery and surrounded with the sound of cascading water from your private alluring infinity-edge private plunge pool. This is a sanctuary for relaxation, especially reading a favourite magazine while having afternoon tea either in the poor or at the poor side. Unfortunately, the transquility is spoilt by the noise or loud music came from the Theme Park. The evening cocktail is served at The Pavillion. Unlimited cocktails available. How i wish, this service is offered to guests to have it inside the room instead of having it in The Pavillion, while enjoying our DVDs in the room.

Service is excellent. Cleanliness is not a problem. Butlers will attend to the guests in the evening. How i wish, i can stay here more days, and be PAMPERED!!

转眼又是新的一年.游子归心似箭. 想必是因为怀念母亲做的饭菜.

每一年我们家族都重复同样的庆典, 那就是年三十时必须在家祭拜祖先和菩萨, 然后才准备丰富的晚餐.

好期待妈妈拿手的菜肴,可是今年妈妈似乎疲于打理家里的琐事,因此准备的菜肴不多,不过却足于让我一解对妈妈饭菜的思念. 在饭桌上有的是我们爱吃的客家梅菜扣肉和鱼瓢干贝鸡汤.

生活在大城市, 往往在假日可以睡到自然醒, 不过, 在家乡就不同了,因为屋外的公鸡会迫不及待

Gunung Tangkuban Perahu is an active volcano 30 km north of the city of Bandung, the provincial capital of West Java, with the height of 2.084 meter. It is a popular tourist attraction where tourists can hike or ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot water springs upclose.

Why the locals called this volcana as " Tangkuban Perahu"? The name translates roughly to "upturning of (a) boat" or "upturned boat" in Sundanese, referring to the local legend of its creation.

This is a tourist attraction area, therefore, there are also a lot of people selling all kind of handicraf and souvenirs along the way, as well as non-stop approaching. I found this is very irritating!

Tips for all. If you really wish to buy souvenirs, try to get the best bargain when you about the leave the place. You will surprise to get it half the price that they offer to you once you arrive.

Angklung is a renowned musical instrument made of bamboo and its originated is West Java, Indonesia. In the early days, music played an essential part of ceremonial activities, especially in the harvest times. The sound of bamboos is believed will catch the attention of the goddess Sri – who will bring fertility to the plantation, and pass the joy and happiness for mankind.

On top of that, there are also people offering a horse ride at Rp 30,000.00. But, i manage to get it at Rp20,000.

CIATER Hot Spring, Bandung:
About 30 minutes from Tangkuban Perahu crater, you can find a nice park named Ciater Hot Spring with small pools in which we can sit or swim. The streams and pools are fed by warm mineral springs, which are created by the heat from nearby volcanoes.

We stopped by at the Strawberry farm before Tangkuban Perahu. We can get the strawberry ourself at Rp60,000/ kg.

Nothing special! The strawberries are rather small. Where else, there are a lot of the locals selling souvenirs, handicrafs, strawberry, red berry and black berry. I bought 3 boxes at Rp 100,000 to share with everyone. After that, when i think of it, that's too expensive!!

The strawberry and berries are sweet. It best to eat in the same day.

Shopping in Bandung (Indonesia)

Bandung is famous for the shopping activities in the various factory outlets. Among all, i personally would like to recommend Rumah Mode and Grande. Of course, on top of that, you can also visit to Toko Tiga and Jalan Cihampelas for jeans.

After a long day of walking ( shopping), this is the time to re-charge with Sunda food. Well,

for the food wise, i would say " ordinary".

The last day, the tour guide brought us to Amanda Cake House to buy the famous " Brownies Kukus". I bought 3 boxes to share with my fellow colleagues. After that, we proceed to Pasar Baru. This is a place where can drive the Malays crazy for more clothing, head scalf and all kind of accesories.

We suppose to assemble at 1 pm. But, sad thing is one of the group member ignored the message and end up all of us waited for 1 hour at the assemble point. We missed our lunch!! We have to send one of the group member to clinic and proceed to check-in for our flight back to KL.

Prosperity Chinese New Year Dinner with A Twist.

Tossing yee sang is always a happy occasion for the Chinese during the Lunar New Year as the tradition is practised in the hope of attaining better luck and prosperity in the coming year. Over the years, tossing yee sang has become so popular that these days, people of other races join in the tradition with gusto, purely for the simple joy of enjoying a good serving of the delightful dish if not in the belief that better things would come.

After tossing, stuffed Shark’s Fin in Chicken Wing Broth with Ginseng and Dried Scallops was served. I personality like the sweet taste of the soup. Thumbs up!

Satisfied with the soup, another main dish - a Cantonese Style Crispy Duck with Eight Treasures was served. This is a dish that is stuffed with treasures like mushrooms, cashew nuts, chestnuts, gingko, dried prawns, water chestnuts and barbecued meat, followed by several cooking processes, before the poultry item is served.

After the steamed fish and mixed vege with scallops, we were started to feel the fullness inside our stomach. Next, we were pampered with braised Eight-Head “Amidori” Abalone with Fresh Beancurd Stick. We enjoyed it so much!

For sweet endings and well-wishes for a smooth-sailing year ahead, savour the Chinese New Year “Nin Ngo”. The deep fried "Nin Ngo" was baked with cheese to balance the sweetness with a mildly salty flavour. It is served with a sweet sauce made from “gui hua” flower and honey. It came with Almond soup and a piece of chinese cake. Thumbs up for the dessert!

On Hong Encore Concert Live in Genting Highlands

I was late to this concert. I missed the first part of the concert. In fact, i was looking forward to hear them sing their famous songs from William So, i.e. 旧爱还是最美, 男人不该让女人流泪, 爱如狂潮 and so on. But, they sang others' songs.

They also talked a lot which i was not interested with. But, a lot of fans were crazy with them especially when William walked down to the crowd. Unfortunately, i was unable to have the lucky chance. The concert didn't end with a bang. After 1 encore song, they ended with a burst of confetti.

I-Choice In Trend Seach Contest

Another auspicious event organised by I-choice, in conjunction for their online magazine launch.

Two months before the launch, they organise I-Choice In-Trend Search 2009 Charity Contest in order to raise fund. They recruited young boys and girls from colleges in klang valley. Part of the funds from the sponsorship will be contributed to Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Insan.

There are many local artistes and celebrities came to support the event. The most eye catching are Miss Astro 2007, Miss Joanne Yew, as well as Miss Malaysia World 2008, Wincci Soo 苏盈之. They are really tall and pretty. Besides that, it also attended by Miss Chinese Cosmos International 2006, Chris Tong, Malaysia Artiste Leslie chai, MediaCorp Artiste Felicia China and so on. RED SKY_ Open Air at 55th Floor Bangkok

Bangkok is a beautiful city which offers a rich experience for dining, shopping and entertainment.

This round i wanted to try something new. No more dining in the tallest building in Bangkok - Boiyoke sky which is rising 88 storey (309meter) above the bangkok skyline. In fact, i wanted to look at the tallest building from other roof top.

This is it - RED SKY Restaurant which is located at 55th floor in Centara Grand at Central World Hotel. They offer chic urban bistro dining and lounging with breathtaking alfresco vistas of Bangkok.

The weather is cooling and the night view is fantastic! The food that we ordered is definitely fresh and delicious. Frankly speaking, the price is slightly expensive! For a plate of mixed grilled seafood, it cost Bht2955 ( exl 10% service charge and VAT 7%).

I must admit that nothing is perfect in this world. After the dinner, we thought of walking around the bar to have some photo shoots, but the heavy down pour drive us to move inside the restaurant.

To go to Central World, take BTS untill Chit Lom station, and take about 10 mins walking distance.

For us, Raya is another festive to eat, also its time to put on weight!

Family Trip to Tanjung Sepat

This place is something new to me. My brother brought us to Tanjung Sepat. We arrived at around 3.00pm, and we all starved. First stop, we wanted to fill our stomach with a famous seafood reataurant - Baywatch. We waited 40 minutes for the meals to be served.

If you asked me about the taste, i would say: " so so only".

It took less than 30 minutes to finish our lunch, and we continued our next itinerary to the famous "pao" shop.

Can't wait to find out what is so special with the Pao here, coz most of the people spread the news that the tourists came here to buy more than 1000 paos.So excited when the time i saw the family members run the business, including preparing the raw materials, mixing the flours untill putting them into the oven.

We wanted to take away some back to KL. Unfortunately, the "pao" was sold out for those who didn't make reservations. We came all the way from KL just to taste tha famous local pao, but they will dissapppointed when they can't even taste it. At the end, after the sweet talk, the boss lets us have 3 paos. The pao taste good and not oily. Thumbs up! No wonder people came all the way just to buy the pao.

Family Trip to Jenjarom 佛光山东禅寺

Before we go to Tanjung Sepat, my brother brought us to FGS Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom. The weather is hot. There are two lovely couples having their wedding shoots.

Normally, the temple will be lighten up with red lanterns and well decorated for special occasions ie. Lantern festival and Lunar Chinese New Year.

My mum likes to go temple, and she spent a long time inside for praying. This is because she has a long wish list to be presented to the God of Mercy. The list of people started with her five children, her siblings, her mum and so on. Even though, i didn't know what is the content, but i guess, she has a standard wish i.e. healthy and safe.

Thanks mum~~ Mum is always worry about us, but not herself.

Never thought of going to Awana Kijal until one day. Upon arrival, i understand that this resort has so much to offer.

1. The Resort.

This is where my 5-star relaxation at the No.1 resort on the East Coast starts. Before arrival, i did make some research online to compile some of the fun activities available. I personally like the big swimming pool very much.

A 22,000 sq. feet waterfall pool washes away your cares.A breathtaking scenery after the rain in the late afternoon. This picture was taken at the corridor, outside the hotel room.

2. Spa Rejuvenation at Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa:

The Spa Experience can contribute greatly to a healthier lifestyle, indulging our senses and enhancing our health by helping us relax, de-stress and have fun.

Before i start my day, i choose to rejuvenate myself with a 2 hrs Ancient Healing Spa which included wedang ( ginger tea), body scrub, massage and body mask. I like the javanese massage very much till I didn't even notice that i felt in sleep.

3. The Hot Sun

The sun kisses my whole body! His kisses can kill. So that, i have to bring out the secret weapon - sunblock to minimize the kisses on my body.

The resort is surrounded by 800 acres of the lush greenery. I lied down on the grass in order to be embraced and reconnected with nature.

For more than 180 years, the Manhattan Fish Market on Fultan street has greeted the dawn from its location in Manhattan under the Brooklyn Bridge, with the freshest seafood. Over he years, the market has maintained its reputation as the largest wholesale market in the country.

The historic market opens from 7 to 9am where the best restaurants and local fish store owners wonder through the stalls for the freshest, top-quality seafood products.

This was my 5th time to patron this restaurant. Hoping to get a surprise, yet, to my disappointment, i failed to discover any food which can arouse my senses. First to mention is the raw oysters. They have never replenish the oysters. So, basically what we can discouver are the sashimi, tempura, hot and cold dishes, soups, free flow of drinks and different varieties of dessert.

Miss Chinese Cosmos South-East Asia 2009 Pageant

The 18 contestants from Singapore, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia are the cream of the crop from their countries. The pageant is held over two weeks and began on Aug 7 with various activities like grooming classes, outdoor sports activities and a tour of Malaysia.

K-LINK International, the Diamond Sponsor witnessed the dazzling moments of Miss Chinese Cosmos Southeast Asia Region 2009 Pageant organised by Hong Kong Phoenix TV. Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant 2006, Miss Chris Tong Peng Yu is a very pretty lady either in person or in the photos. I know her through her sister, Jayne. Chris is currently busy for film shooting, advertisement and product ambassador. The event was held in Palace of the Golden Horses. I was surprised to meet MCA Datuk Michael Chong in this occasion.

Simon Yam is also the limelight of the night. I was able to talk to him. He is a friendly and cheerful gentleman.

During the Q&A session, some of the chinese culture related questions are so difficult to answer.

There are also 12 subsidairy titles which will allow the winners to be brand ambassadors for the companies adopting the said titles. K-LINK adopted a subtitle named " Miss Healthy and Beauty".

Congratulations to the Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up! The winner will receive RM320,000 - RM20,000 in cash and the rest in kind while the collective amount for the first and second runners-up is RM150,000. The top three winners will represent their countries at the Miss Chinese Cosmos International pageant 2009 in Beijing.

K-LINK Theme Dinner ~ Cultural Night

Theme dinner was the last event to be held in conjunction with K-LINK 8th Anniversary Celebration. After two months preparation, tonight is the time i have to make it happen according to my plan.

In fact, i don't like outdoor event due to the hot weather. Too bad, i have no choice. From 10.30am onwards i have to be there to ensure everthing is in order, including conducting rehearsal for the live band and emcees, as well as coordination with the Sunway Lagoon team.

Entrance arch at Landing 3 towards the main entrance of Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach. There was a "Mat Saleh" couple

wanted me to be into their photo. When the rest of the oversea delegates requested, i have to excuse myself coz i have to supervise other sections too. A lot of friends commented that i should have removed the white tops. But, for me, i always believe sexy is an inner beauty and own personality, but not by wearing less. I started the program punctually. The Live Band named Silver Beat Band entertained the guests while they enjoyed their delicious buffet dinner. The situation was out of control when the guests get high and jumped on the stage. However, for safety wise, we are not allowed so many people to go on stage at one time. Don't rub your eye. Yes, the event was held in KL, not Thailand. Look at the Thailand delegates. All of them came in their own traditional costume.

Indonesia delegates as well, they came to show their culture. In fact, they wanted to participate in the best dress contest, to win cash prize and product hamper.

The 2 emcees, Mat Over and Ms Angeline Tan conducting the best dress contest ( woman category) on stage. The Champions went to Bangkok girl - Yui. Nearly 1,000 guests at the Surf Beach. They enjoyed the opening Kuda Kepang dance, fun games, dance, live band performance and other program on stage.

The spectacular fireworks brighten up the dark sky, while the Live Band performing the K-LINK Corporate song. The fireworks released at the right time when everybody is enjoying the song.

Everyone eyes wide opened~~ " Wow, wow...amazing! "

I felt sorry for some of the oversea delegates coz i have no time to entertain them. I need to always alert of the program running.
Thanks to Sunway Lagoon Team, for showing their professionalism in work. This is an ideal place for function.

K-LINK 8th Anniversary Celebration

K-LINK International celebrated its 8th Anniversary and Recognition Ceremony in Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) on 8 August 2009. The grandeur event was celebrated together with approximately 3,000 K-LINK International members from around the world like Indonesia, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Lithuania, Nepal, Poland, Africa, Kenya, Cyprus, England and other countries.

The team whom gone through a lot of challenges and many sleepless nights to make the event a success. Also with the helps from other departments. Eventhough the event started at 8.00pm, but there were guests arrived in the morning. As early as 6.00 pm, there were already crowded at the foyer. People can't wait any longer to enter the hall in order to grab the front seats.
Everybody put their big smile on their face. They are so awesome!

Besides cultural dances performed throughout the night, there was a local singer named Willian Chen Wei San entertained the crowd with 4 songs.
This is the night of glory! Congratulations to those top achievers for their hard work. Every top achievers received a Gold pin, sasch, keris -shaped trophy and a piece of certificate presented by K-LINK Board of Directors.

Some of my friends envy my work when they gone thought some of my event photos. In fact, there are a lot of challenges that we need to go through prior to the actual event.

A project leader must be a person who equipped herself/himself with overall leadership, responsibility, able to work under pressure, analytical/critical thinking, problem solving and good communication skills.

Most of the time, i have sore throat problem due to non-stop talking with different levels and type of people.

Organizing a team is a big step to ensure a successful event. Irrespective of how a team is organized, it is important to remember that each member of the group should view themselves as a team member.

It is important that those who are on the organising committee take responsibility for their allocated areas. Regular meetings and communication between members and the cordinator/chair are essential at this point. The 'King' and ' Queen" of the day - Fairiz and Alia.

For the Malays, there are certain preliminaries or events which must happen before the wedding bells chime.

The first group of activities, all of which precede the actual wedding ceremony, consist of (a) merisik, (b) meminang, and (c) the hantaran or the sending of gifts and part of the amount of money (wang belanja) for expenses (wang belanja) which the boy’s family give to the girl’s side that will be incurred by the girl’s family.

The second group of activities consists of 'akad nikah' and berinai, while the third group of activities consists of berarak or arriving in procession, sitting on a decorated dias (pelamin).

"Bunga Telur" is a symbol of fertility and it is hoped that by giving out the bunga telur the married couple would be blessed with many children.

During the bersanding ceremony, the bridal couple will be seated on the dais and sprinkled with yellow rice and scented water by family members, relatives and guests as a sign of blessing.

Fairiz and I are working in different department. Fairiz always call me "sayang" in the office. I was so surprise when he introduced me to his wife. He said, " this is my sayang". I was speechless and felt embarassed. To avoid any misunderstanding, i tried to explain. Before i opened my mouth, his wife laughed happily and said," oh, this is the sayang u always mention in front of me!"....

What a funny couple!..make me sweat!.

Food Gossip 13- Ninja Jones & My Honeymoon Dessert

You don't have to travel to Japan to see Ninja. Here, in Ninja Jones Restaurant, Ninja will serve you food and also fulfill your request, ie. photo opportunity. I'm impressed by the quality service of the Ninja. They were dressed in black Ninja uniform.

The two-storey restaurant gives little clue of what lies ahead and guests are invited to push a button to open the metal doors to the restaurant proper.

A timber archway leads to a curved walkway with subdued lighting, giving the effect of a mysterious forest. The walkway ends at the foyer and it is here that guests will see a breathtaking sight as they take in the space, design and ambience of the outlet.

Three of us flip through the menu. There are so many things we would like to try.

They offer a wide varieties of weatern food at a reasonable and affordable price. Half dozen of Ascagots are always my top favourite.

The Most Glamorous Event of the Year!

After eight years of well establishment and achievement, K-LINK strongly believes that the staff are the assets’ of the Company. As a token of appreciation, K-LINK is proud to recognize K-LINK staff whom has five (5) years and above of dedicated services.

My initial idea is to organise something similar like Oscar Awards, whereby all guests and recipients will dress up elegantly for the occasion. Therefore, i think of the theme - " The Glamourous Star Night". Everyone is the star of the night!

Entrance arch: Since everyone is the Star, therefore we should be the main attraction on the red carpet with the paparazzis' flash lights. This is how my concept came from. Pic below: My buddy, Michael. We call him " Mr Bean". Don't you agree with met?

Cartoon board: We use this as a tool for ice breaking session and official opening ceremony by the Board of Directors.

Thanks to Prince Hotel and Residence KL. Their Sales Team and Banquet Team are very helpful. They do their best to provide what we need.

Before the event starts, all staff mingled around at the pre-event cocktail area. They are busy to vote for "The Most Glamourous Prince" and also " The Most Glamourous Princess" of year 2009.

After i arranged everything with the Banquet team and Event Organiser Team, i have less than one hour to make up and dress up! Where else, most of the lady colleagues spent the whole afternoon in the saloon for their hair-do and make up.

During the ice breaking session, we dance and at the end, we sticked our own "Big head" onto the cartoon body that we like. I'm the first to stick, of course i go for the pretty Snow White.

Performance by Bibi Kepoh. Thanks Bibi, for bringing laugh to us.

Everyone laughs while enjoying the Opening Video. This is because each individual's head was cut out and paste onto a dancing body.

You can easily find Pineapple cake in Taipei. But, to find the authentic one, you have to go to Kong Kee Pastry shop which is located in Simending Area. You can make a phone call through the hotel, and they do provide delivery service with a minimum transportation fee.

This shop is highly recommended by the Taiwan Tourism Board.

Their award-winning products have no preservative, no colouring, less sugar and suitable for Vegans too. From the rack, you can see Pineapple cake, green bean cake, Emperor Chin cake, 3Q President Cake, Fruit Cake, Honey Cake, New York Cheese Bar and so on. Among all, 3Q President Cake and Pineapple cake are my top favourite.

There are many choices that might confuse you. Don't worry, you can just visit the outlet and they provide sampling too.

Shilin Night Market has since become the largest and most well known night market in Taiwan, especially with regards to food, and is a favorite focal point for Taipei's night life among residents and visitors alike.

The night market is in close proximity to "Jiantan Station" on the Dansui Line. The local businesses and vendors begin opening around 4 pm and closes at around 1 to 2 am.

Many people come to Shihlin Night Market to enjoy the delicious snacks, such as large pancake enfolding small pancake, Fried Chicken Steak (炸雞排), Stinky taufu, oyster omelet (蚵仔煎), hot pot on stone or Shihlin sausage and many more.

One must try the puding as it is very famous in Taipei. The Puding shop can sell more than 10,000 pudings per day through either retails or internet. One cup of puding is sell at NT$15/ cup.

If you ask me about the taste, i would say, " i'm not fancy it".

The stinky tau fu which served with pickled vegatables that i tried now was not as stinky as a few years ago. I felt disspointed coz i can't find the stinky yet tasty feeling again. According to the stall owner, stinky taufu is manufactured and distributed by a factory. No more hand make tau fu, coz it involved a lot of works. So, the taste will be the same every where you try in Taipei.

At night, we have no way to go, coz we don't fancy karaoke, pubs, discos, but since we stayed nearby the theater street- Ximending so that we went for a midnight movie.

We bought ticket for IMAX 3D movie cinema to watch " Star Trek". The movie ticket is NT$330 for the first person and the second accompany is charged at NT$280. On top of that, you can top up NT$ 99 for a bottle of water and popcorn.

IMAX has arrived which now features Taiwan's only digital IMAX theater--also the world's largest with 600 seats. IMAX's huge, curved screen offers an unrivalled theater experience for all viewers, wherever they sit, and includes patented technology giving clearer, brighter definition and sharper, 3D-like visual effects. Moreover, the uncompressed, super-clear digital audio system broadcasts the smallest sounds--even the drop of a needle--clearly. All this ensures that audiences are fully immersed in and surrounded by the movie scenes.

Another notable advantage is digital IMAX's environmentally-friendly, copy-proof, scratch-proof system which is easily transportable and doesn't rely on film. It's really enjoyable to watch "Star Trek" in IMAX. It's worth to pay NT$330 for a movie ticket.

Another night, we went to watch "Angels and Demons" in IN89 Digital Cinema. The ticket price for adult is NT$270. This three-screen complex is always full of teenagers and young couples who want to take advantage of the first-run movies, digital audio system and sofa-like love seats without armrests.

When it comes to toilet ice-cream, many heard of it but not many dare to try it. After all, it sounds like crap and looked like it too. This outlet is situated at Simending area. I believe, most of the people came because of curiousity but it definitely not the taste of the food or dessert. The food here taste like shits.

Their signature dessert is a big pile of chocolate ice cream sold in containers shaped like a squat toilet. At the start, many people peered in at the restaurant trying to figure out what they were selling.

They offer a few varieties to choose from, i.e. gratin, dessert, drins, hot pots, spaghetti, snacks, ice shavings and speacial meals.

Eating ice-cream shaped like poop while sitting on the toilet. We made it fun to eat ice-cream from the toilet.

Every customer sits on a stylish acrylic toilet (lid down) designed with images of roses, seashells or Renaissance paintings. Everyone dines at a glass table with a sink underneath. The theme-restaurant chain now has seven outlets in Taiwan, one in Hong Kong and one opening in Shenzhen, China.

The only people who have a hard time are the elderly who have exclaimed, "I will not eat on the toilet!". I guess, if i bring my mum there, she will has a horrible nightmare.

From Taipei 101, we took a tax to Wufenpu. The journey took about 10minutes, and it costs us NT$75.00. What is so special about this place, as most of my girl friends said this is the right place to shop for plenty of beautiful dress with a cheap price.

Wufenpu ready-made clothes distribution market has been transformed into an organised ready-made clothes distribution zone.

Where is Wufenpu? It's located between Songshan Rd and Yongji Rd. Take MRT to Houshanpi station, and take about 10min walk. In 1769, five families from fuken province, China bought this place from the Malixikou, that was how it got its name, (for “Wu-fen-pu” means “divide the land by five”). Most soil in this area was too poor to farm; in addition, there were mental hospitals and pig farms built in this place and therefore it was thought to be the wasteland of the ignobility.

So tired of walking! I didn't manage to buy a lot of beautiful dresses from here. However, it is consider an eye opening trip.

To go to Taipei 101, you can take the Nangang MRT (blue Line) and go down at Taiwan City Hall station. After that, there are a lot of buses to go to Taipei 101 ( bus fare at NT$15/person).

Ticket booth and lift entrance to observatory desk is located at the 5th floor of the Taipei 101 Shopping Mall. You will pass through the shopping mall. You can see this shop named " Liu Li Gong Fang" (琉璃工房) outside the ticket booth area. A group of ducks attract my attention.

Liuli Gongfang (琉璃工房) is Taiwan's only contemporary glass studio devoted to artistic Chinese glassware. Since its establishment in 1987 Liuligongfang has become known in Asia and abroad for its outstanding artistic endeavours and its high standard of craftsmanship.

Taipei 101 Observatory :

After buying our ticket (NT$400/person) , we can ride the Guinness record " World's fastest elevator" to the 89th floor indoor observatory. They open everyday from 10 am until 10 pm.

89th Floor - Indoor Observatory:

The pretty elevator driver sent us to 89th floor. With only about 37 seconds, we went up 382 meters above the ground.

Visitors are having commanding view of the city and Taipei Basin in all directions. The world's largest damper would be reviewed from above. The observatory is equipped with high-powered binoculars, drinks bar, image service, pre-recorded multimedia guides in eight languages, the world's tallest building's (2004) mailboxes and souvenir shops.

From the WEST wing, we can see a lot of buidlings such as Chang Kai-Sek Memorial Hall ( pic below), Taipei bridge, Office of the President, Far Eastern Plaza and many more.

I saw there are workers doing the cleaning work outside the window. Look at them, they are so brave. I can't even dare to stand near to the window. My legs are shaking...~~
As i understand, Taipei 101 with the height of 508 meters and the world's fastest elevator which can reach the top speed of 1,010 meters per minute. Taipei 101's foundation is fortified by 380 piles driven 101's meters into the ground and 30 meters into the bedrock. Each foundation pile is 150cm in diameter and provides a bearing capacity of anywhere between 1,100 to 1,450 tons and securely pins the entire building t the firm bedroack below.

The building's glass curtain walls with heat and UV filter treatments can sustain impacts of 8 tons. The building strucuture has been designed to withstand the strongest earthquake and wind resistance.
88th Floor - Super Big Wind Damper & Treasure Sky:

Treasure Sky:

Treasure sky is the world's highest jewelry arts boutique. Creating exquisite art pieces with Taiwan's unique coral gemstones, blue chalcedony, jade and other gemstones.

The World's Tallest gemstones Coral (width 131cm, height 141 cm). This gemstones coral tree comes from 200 meters below the Pacific ocean, North-East of Taiwan. As gemstones grow coral 10 years grow 1 cm, this gigantic gemstone coral tree becomes one of the most precious treasures of Taiwan.

The sky is limit: The eagle demonstrates the exquisite craftsmanship of Taiwan's coral gemstone artist. Each feather is individually crafted, then collaborated to form the structure of the eagle. It took around 28 months to complete this masterpiece.

We proceed to 91 floor where outdoor observatory is located. Here, we can feel the strong winds, enjoy the expansive view, and also see close up the spire at the building's 508-meter high apex. A theather on the 91st floor shows films about the construction of Taipei 101, as well as last year's New Year fireworks display.

After spending three hours in the observatory desk, we took the elevator down to the 5th floor. Look at the digital screen shown inside the elevator, it took about 43 seconds to reach the ground.

What an amazing building!!

Taipei : Ximending Circle 西門町

Ximending is now called the “Harajuku” of Taipei. The city government and local stores established Ximending as a pedestrian area, prohibiting the entrance of vehicles on weekends and national holidays, a move that attracted young consumers and brought back business. Today, Ximending has over twenty theaters and six thousand vendors, and is a popular area for small concerts, album launches, and street performances.

The area of Seimon-chō included modern-day Chengdu Road (成都路), Xining South Road (西寧南路), Kunming Street (昆明街), and Kangding Road (康定路). However, today the Ximending Pedestrian Area not only includes Seimon-chō but also Wakatake-chō (若竹町) and Araki-chō (新起町).

Out of sudden, i saw a lot of teenagers gathered outside Etude House. Out of curiosity, i joined in too. But, i doubt, who are those "idols" printed on the board? i have no idea why the young girls are so crazy about them.

Three Siblings (三兄妹) Dessert Shop:

You must visit this dessert shop named "Three Siblings (三兄妹)" at the Food Street. Thumbs up to the Snow ice sharving dessert. I ordered one with Strawberry and manggo snow sharving (NT$120). The taste is really fantastic, smooth and not sweet.

There are so many things to see in Simending circle. For instance, accesories, shoes, bags, T-shirts, fancy dress, nails spa and so on. But, mostly they are suitable for youngsters.

大车轮料理:
There are many Japanese restaurants around this area but my taste bud tells me that this is the one which will give me a high satisfaction. It proven that i'm right especially the scallop wrapped with seaweed is simply fantastic!.

到西门町，不但有传统的中式料理，而且还有蛮不错的日式料理可供选择。拥有30多年历史的「大车轮」火车寿司，在寿司台前，载著食物的小火车就从你前面呼啸而过，难怪让这家老店生意永远兴隆，每到用餐时间，要排队等候许久才能有机会享受这种创意十足的用餐方式。

At night, my local friend invited us for dinner at his condo's roof top. From there, i can see a beautiful night view of Taipei, where Taipei 101 is standing high above all.

Ximending is also accessible via exit 6 of MRT Ximen (Bannan Line and the future Songshan Line).

Longshan Temple 龙山寺:

Longshan Temple, located at the LongShan MRT station, was originally built in 1738 and today is Taipei's best-known temple. Its host deity is God of Mercy; persiding in its rear court is Mazu, the Taoist Goddess of the Sea. They are accompanied by a host of other divine personages.

The structure includes unique dragon columns cast from bronze. Despite World War II bombing and several reconstrictions, th temple remains one of the city's best examples of traditional temple architecture.

The posts and beams of the temple were carved in great details, which i protected as the second-class palce of historical interest. The main hall worships the Goddess of Lotus and the back hall worships Ma Zu and other Gods. This is a temple worshipping multiple Gods.

Taipei : Beitou Hot Spring

The hot-spring water of Beitou, a district of Taipei City is available in a large number of hotels lining Singyi Road, Wencyuan Road, Cyuanyuan Road. The area also includes the Hot Spring museum, water park, and Hell Valley, among other attractions.

Second night in Taipei, we went to Beitou, just for the hot spring. I stayed in Chyuan Du Spring Hotel (泉都溫泉會館) at NT$1790/ room/night. This hotel is just a stone throw away from Xin BeiTou subway station.

Inside, many rooms come with their own hot spring baths. Relax for as long as you can stand their piping hot acidic sulphur waters. People with high blood pressure, heart disease or open wounds should not enter the baths.

Due to the smell of sulphur and the constant rising of steam, the Beitou valley had the appearance of a witch's cauldron, and so the aboriginal inhabitants of the area named it 'witch'.

There are so many hot springs in new Beitou. You don't even have to worry! The price is also reasonable. Bathing in the hot spring water has a relaxing and refreshing effect. It helps to relieve muscle pains, nervous pains, digestive problems, arteriosclerosis and other ailments.

According to the ingredients in the hot spring water, the curative effect of the hot springs also varies. The tourists can choose the most suitble kind in accordance with their needs.

Firstly, chloride springs where the skin will be very smooth after soaking. It also has curative effect on the skin diseases, rheumatic fever and nerve pain. Second is the Sodium bicarbonate springs which is suitable for drinking and bathing and also has curative effect on athlete's foot, arthritis and nerve pain. Lastly, Sulfate springs is rich in minerals and has curative effect on skin diseases.

Hot Spring Valley 地熱谷:

The photo below shows Hot Spring Valley (地熱谷), which is the source of the hot springs in Beitou. Hot springs are what Beitou is famous for and the Beitou Hot Spring Museum (北投溫泉博物館) is built in a restored public bath house.

There are few different versions of how Hell Valley is formed; some say it is a collapsed volcano crater; others say it's formed by underground hot spring coming off surface cracks. Nevertheless, its misty looks makes it a perfect photo spot.

It’s a natural hot sulfur spring where the water temperature can reach up to 100°C (212°F) . Unfortunately, this place is closed due to safety issue. Therefore we can only view it from far.

In fact one needn’t even pay to reap the therapeutic benefits of Peitou’s spas and numerous Beitou hot springs: just join the locals sitting on the edge of the pavement, shoes and socks removed, feet dangling in the steaming sulphurous waters running alongside the road.
Behind me is the Taipei Library which built with modern design in the lush garden.

After checked - out at 1.00pm, we proceed to Ximending.

Taipei : Dansui & Fishermen's Wharf 淡水漁人碼頭

Dansui Fishermen's Wharf 淡水漁人碼頭 :

Fishermen's Wharf walking area is a boarding point on the Northern Coast Blue Highway, as well as a new Dansui tourist attraction. Convenient communications, green lawn, trails, the white lover bridge and the coffee shop.

To go to the Fishermen's Wharf, one has to board the boat at the Boat dock. The boat will depart every 20 mins to Fishermen's Wharf.

To find fresh seafood is not a problem as most of the people's income are base on the catch from the sea. There are also the local fishermen sell their catch - anchovies ( ikan bilis) near to the pier. Look at the picture below, those anchovies are having "sun bath" on the walking street.

Dansui Old Street 淡水老街:

Everyone must have also seen the “Old Street” once walked out the Danshui MRT station to the riverbank. What brings thousands of visitors daily to this tiny town is not just the food but also the gorgeous view of Dansui River. Now the sidewalk becomes a popular spot for a romantic dating or great weekend afternoon family time.There are so much to see along the walking street, from hawker food stalls, souvenir shops and so on. What we really interested are the local food, ie, taiwan sausages, stinky taufu and so on.

We stopped by at this souvenir shop named " Ti Hu Master". They offer a few famous local titbits i.e. Sampan Seaweed pancake and Tu Hu Tiedan. I bought some to try.

You can see the "black iron eggs" (extra hard boiled eggs) everywhere in Dansui.

There are so many things to eat here. So we don't even need a proper lunch. Along the way, we had tried the Taiwan sausage, pink guava juice, girlled sotong, sotong balls and so on, until i have no hands to hold anymore things, not to mention to hold the shopping stuffs.

On the way to the jetty, we were attracted by their shop signage which is selling famous fish balls. So we walked in to try. There are stuffs inside the fish ball, served with soup.

Taiwaneses are very creative!!. This fellow can make a person's face exactly with our face with his hands. Besides that, there are a few of artiests who offer potrait drawings. I'm interested, but too many young lovers are waiting so i give up and continue my "find food" journey.

Taipei: Yangminshan National Park 陽明山國家公園

We kick-start our day with a heavy breakfast near Wan Fang Hospital MRT station. I like the steam mini pau (siaw Long Pau NT$110 for 8pcs) . This is because even though the skin is thin, but the soup still wrapped nicely.

After the heavy breakfast, Yangmingshan National Park was the first destination. To go to Yangminshan, we first ride on the Dansui line to JianTan Station, followed by about 30 mins bus journey (NT$15/person) to reach the park. We didn't join any local tour coz we enjoyed our leisure time.

Yangminshan National Park 陽明山國家公園:

The Yangmingshan National Park is located in Beitou District in the north of Taipei City. The Yangmingshan National Park is the only national park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs.

After arrived, we took another mini bus (NT$15/person) to round the park. We can choose to stop at any stop point at our choice. To continue the next visiting point, you have to wait for another mini bus. Therefore, we prefer to tour around by bus. Also, this is because the rain started to pour. The weather is so cold.

To round the park (as per the RED route map shown below), it takes about 30 minutes.

Yangmingshan is famous for its beautiful scenery with traces of volcanic activities and abundant natural resources. It is also Taiwan’s third national park and the one closest to a major city. All year round, Yangmingshan has attractions to offer – flowers in spring, beautiful sky in summer, fruits and maple leaves in autumn, as well as hot spring bathing and snow in winter.

After the ride, we saw a cafe nearby the bus terminal. Before we left, we stopped there for a cup of hot coffee.

You may complain that there is nothing to see on Yangmingshan at this point. In fact, it ain’t necessary so. This may be one of the places in Taiwan where you can see the Taiwan blue magpie and the Formosan whistling-thrush most easily.

First, i must give thumbs up to EVA airway for their excellence in-flight service. Also, before departure, Eva air will e-mail a details info about our trip and some of the basic traveling tips.

The flight arrived Taipei at 7.45 pm, which was 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. My Taiwan friend fetched us and proceed to XingNan Night market for dinner.

The Xingnan Night Market in Zhonghe is notable for its ten or more sellers of shave ice. Apart from the food stalls, there are also numerous sundry stores selling a wide variety of inexpensive wares. Shoe and clothing stores are abundant, too.

According to my friend, this "mee sua" is very famous. But, i don't really fancy " mee sua". So i space some of my stomach space for other local food. The food in Taiwan is not expensive as compare to other countries like Hong Kong.

After Mee Sua, we proceed to try the stinky taufu.
Other than that, i tried other local dessert, juices and food as well.

Nope! i didn't try the chicken chop, my friend bought it.

With that, we end our first day program after the dinner.

We flu to Jakarta to attend the company event, K-Link Indonesia 7th Anniversary Celebration. We stayed in Ancol theme park where Mercure Hotel is located. Everyone has a seaview room. Unfortunately, i have no time to really enjoy the facilities here.

After a quick lunch at the coffee house, we are getting ready to attend the event in Istora Senayan Jakarta.

By the time we arrived in the stadium, more than 10,000 people gathered either inside or outside the venue. Before that, we took a photo outside the stadium.

Another event highlight was the Grand Lucky Draw whereby two units of the Grand Livina will be given away.

I can observe from the crowd that most of the jobless or job seekers are fresh grads. I am thankful coz i have a challenging job. There are a few big notice boards where the job seekers can view the vacancy available from various employers.

Look at Air Asia booth, there is a long Q since early morning. Guess what? They lined up not for air steward or stewardress position but RAMP AGENT. What is ramp agent? Basically, ramp agent has similar job function with Airport baggage handlers whom responsible for marshalling aircraft in the gate, loading, unloading and sorting freight and baggage. Ramp Service Agents are also responsible for servicing aircraft lavatories and potable water, pushback plane from the gate, deicing and other duties as delegated.

My Birthday at Tenji Japanese Restaurant, Mont Kiara

My birthday again, a precious day coz it comes only once a year. My friend suggested to celebrate it in Tenji Japanese Restaurant where most of the people are giving thumbs up about the food and environment there.

They have lunch promotion at RM49.9++. The restaurant offers more than the usual common sushi, sashimi or teppanyaki. Gourmands will likely need to make several visits to savour all of the 250 plus unique items on the menu featuring a gastronomic spread of Japanese, Chinese as well as Asian fusion and Western delicacies.

Tenji Japanese Buffet Restaurant replicates a traditional Japanese home with clean, sleek and uncluttered interior.

Those photos that i posted here are just small part of it. Actually, they have more food to offer but due to my stomach space constraint, i can only taste something special at my preferences.

My favourite fresh oysters. However, they should slice the lemon in bigger portion, so it easier for diner to squeeze it onto the oyster. Fresh oyster with tobasco sauce and fresh lime...thumbs up!

Happy Birthday! Birthday girl pampers herself with a wide variety of delicious food. After that, a lot of exercises have to be carried out to lose weight!! Anyway, this is LIFE - work hard, play hard.

There are counters where the chef can cook for us at our choice. What we need to do is just place a table number at the certain raw food we like, within 5 minutes the food will be served on our table.

For example, my friend choose the crab and cod fish. They are simply fresh and tasty!

Hard Rock Bali :

A short walking distance to Hard Rock Hotel Bali. The location is good for shopping and the beach is right across the street. The hotel has the largest free form pool in Bali which offers an array of activities for anyone and everyone to enjoy.

For me, Hard Rock hotel is similar like a music muzium for me as i can see a lot of special collections from the music stars such as Tribute to Elvis Presley, Rolling stones and Beatles.

After we visited the Hard Rock Hotel, we proceed to Kuta Beach. The sea water is not that clean as compare to last time that i visited 3 years ago. However, we still enjoyed the waves and taking photos under the hot sun!

Kuta is a well known destination among surfing enthusiasts. A long sandy beach with a lack of dangerous rocks or coral makes the area an attraction for beginners. I wish, i can take up a short course of the surfing next trip, in order to experience the fun of it.

Today Kuta is a showcase of excessive development. It is a chaotic, tightly packed mass of concrete and congestion with a run down infrastructure. The beach is overrun with touts and most serious surfers have headed elsewhere. For that reason, i don't really enjoy myself in Kuta if compare to Ubud and North Bali. Furthermore, there are a lot of youngsters ( i guess, they came from other provinces) gathered there and whistled at the gals, which i don't feel secure and comfortable.

Bali : Jimbaran seafood dinner

We have our fresh seafood dinner on the beach under the moonlight.

We can choose the menu we want. The price goes by the kilogram and not really that cheap, but the good taste and ambience are worth dinning here.

The strolling minstrels featuring guitars and a double bass are good vibes and make money from tips. They will pass your way sooner or later so it can be fun to ask for a song and give them 10,000rp.

I ordered the squids, clams and prawns, together with rice and kangkung belacan. The total bill is about Rps 380,000.00 Before the dinner is served, my sister bought two grilled sweet corns from the hawker stall on the beach. Yummy!..

Bali : Uluwatu, Kecak & Fire Dance

Uluwatu is at the southernmost tip of southern Bali. Uluwatu temple is built perched over the sea, this temple is one bali’s most famous sight. It blessed with the breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean and sunset as backdrop.

Entrance fee is Rp 3,000. As usual, we need to be properly dressed to enter and sarongs and sashes can be rented at the entrance.

Kecak & Fire Dance will be held at 6pm everyday. Entrance fee is Rps50,000 per person.

Kecak Dance is one the best known of many Balinese Dance which featuring Ramayana Story. The performance doesn’t use gambelan ( Balinese Music Instrument ) accompaniment. The background music is provided by chanting ‘choirs’ of men " Cak... Cak..cak..cak ” noise, by Kecak Dancer it self.

All of Kecak Dancers are bare chested, and just wearing sarong around their waists. The Kecak Dance chanting is superbly synchronised with raise their hands in unison, flutter their fingers and lean left and right, all with exciting coordination.

The sunset view from the Uluwatu temple, set right on top of the long tall cliff overlooking the ocean. The sunset against a backdrop of silver waves, the dark silhouette of the temple in front of the scene. This is the best time to take out the camera and capture the unforgetable Uluwatu sunset.

A beautiful sunset colors the sky orange as it slowly disappears away, replaced by the moon at night.

Bali : Monkey at Uluwatu Forest

Uluwatu is a small village on the west coast, south of Jimbaran. The temple is inhabited by large number of monkeys, who are extremely adept at snatching visitors' belonging, including bags, cameras and eyeglasses. Before we reached the temple, our tour guide warned us to remove our accesorries and keep our belongings safe.

The monkeys here were much more aggressive than those that live in Monkey Forest in Ubud. They would rush up to you and try to grab things out of your hand, or even out of your pockets or bags, and were quite scary. If you do have something taken, the monkeys can usually be induced to exchange it for some fruit or tipits. Needless to say, rewarding the monkeys like this only encourages them to steal more. Locals and even the temple priests will be happy to do the job for you, naturally in exchange for a tip (Rp 10,000 - 50,000).

Behind the cuddly facade lies a cunning thief. We joke that maybe the monkeys are being trained to do this dirty tricks in order to earn more tips.

Some of the monkeys here are being feed till big belly and unable to jump anymore.
Long-tailed Balinese Macaque- Look closer, they have "David Beckham" hair sytle - short and chipped hair, long and messy locks, gel-waxed floppy hair, long at the top and cut short through the back and sides, as well as other weird combinations of medium-sized patches and shaven top sectors.
While i enjoyed the sunset in Uluwatu, at the same time, i need to becareful of the naughty monkeys.

Bali : Nusa Dua

Before we reached Tanah Lot, there is a short walking distance to pass through a lot of local handicrafs shops which sell a wide variety of souvenirs such as wood carving, bags, paintings and so on.

Tanah Lot provides the facilities to enjoy the beautiful sunset while seat on the chair.

Tanah Lot owns a magnificent view in particular at the sunset time where the sun slows down to the earth stomach. The temple is built on the rock with 3 acre size and reachable in a few minute by walk, because it is just 20 meters from the coastal lip.

This temple is able to be reached by foot only in particular low tide. The Balinese Hindus are using this moment to enter the temple for praying since they can not access when the seawater is tide.

Batu Bolong Temple is featured by beautiful panorama with the big hole under the temple. Batu Bolong Temple is also built on the rock with the reef bank and own the small temple yard.

There are holy tame snake in black and white color where according to the local society believe that it as a deity property and as the guard of the temple from the bad influence. The locals believe that if one touches the snake while making a wish, the wish will come true. So i give it a try.

Lunar New Year : Event Tour in Kota Kinabalu

From Johor Bahru, three ladies flew to Kota Kinabalu at 7.10 am flight for the preparation of branch's Soft Launch and Chinese New Year Open House Ceremony. It was a tire journey, as i had only 4 hours sleep before departure.

The company took over the outlet as the official KK branch. When we arrived, the outlet is stil in a mess, in term of the interior decoration and set up. Same day, we started to decorate it and filled up the empty notice board with the necessary info.

Prior to the actual event, i received a lot of phone calls worrying about the bad weather which will spoil the outdoor event. But, i always see think positively even though i cannot control the weather. No doubt, prevention is better than cure.

On the actual day, the weather is good. The response is overwhelming. By 2.30pm, we are waiting for the arrival of the boss, whereby the lion dance troup has to welcoming my big boss.

The program was officially started after my boss officiate the opening of KK branch office. the guests enjoyed the light refreshment, lion dance performance, fun games and so on. To end the event, people lined up to greet and to receive angpao from my Group Executive Director.

Standing beside my boss, i said " Boss, u break the record this year for shaking the most number of hands within a week". He laughed.

Our legs are so tired. Therefore, i suggested to pamper ourself with a reflexology before we wrapped up the venue to go home. I understand, my staffs work very hard for the event tour non-stop. So they deserved it.

Thanks to the staffs who are given full support and co-operation to make this event a success. My boss was very happy with it.

Chinese New Year Open House:

This is my work related event, so i will not elaborate more details in my blog. Let's the pictures tell the story.

The event was held on 4th Feb in the office building, whereby the guests are well entertained by the Lion Dance performance, Light refreshment, angpao give away and lou sang tossing.

Johor Bahru:

The following day, four of us depart to Johor Bahru branch for another CNY open house in Tmn Molek. We set up four canopies outside the office branch.

Singapore:

After Johor bahru, we went to Singapore to continue our work.

The next day early morning, i have to fly to Kota Kinabalu for another event.

Chap Goh Meh in Tawau, my hometown

Hurray...finally my event tour is over. Just in time to reach home for Chap Goh Meh on 9th Feb 2009! My mum should be very happy to see me home.

My mum didn't cook, coz we have event and ceremony to attend. While my parents went to the temple for vegetarian dinner, i joined my relatives to attend an open house dinner.

I am not sure how many of you notice that the moon is perfectly round and bright in the sky. So beautiful!

After the dinner, i joined my mum in the temple as mum called to say that the God of Fotune is giving away angpao. This year, i received a lot of angpaos!!The impersonated God of Fortune looks so familiar to me. Oh ya, he is my father. I didn't stay long in the temple until my parents finish their duty for Chap Goh Meh ceremony. So i asked them to join us in Nostalgia cafe later.

They seem so hungry. Ask them why? They said, they are busy with the ceremony, and didn't really have their dinner.

The following night, we have seafood together at Kam Ling Seafood Restaurant.

Food Gossip 9 : Sabah Fresh Seafood

As we all know, Sabah is famous for its fresh seafood, with the reasonable price. Therefore, i will not elaborate much on the taste and price. Let's the pictures tell the story.

Fresh, abundant and served to perfection- Sabah seafood promises nothing less than the best. All of the restaurants in KK town provide live creatures - fishes, crabs, prawns and lobster in aquariums - all are alive and you have a choice to choose which one you would like to eat.

To attract more tourists, they have cultural dance at certain hours. After that, we are allowed to take picture with them on stage.

Food and cuisine in Kota Kinabalu has a lot to offer and will leave you coming back for more!

Welcome Seafood Restaurant, KK :
大茄来海鲜餐厅:

The restaurant is at the far corner of the row of shophouses behind the well-known Supertanker Restaurant in Penampang. It always full house especially weekends.

It is a Sunday night, they are about 20 of us, together with the local distributors and my big boss to have dinner after the event. We are lucky, maybe one of the distributors know the boss, so that we are able to get two tables without long await.

While everyone seems so comfortable sitting on the chair and waiting for the food, so automatically i took the initiative to make the order. In fact, those that ordered are my favourites such as steamed prawns, steamed fish, Bayan soup, Sabah Vege and clams.

Sea snails - they're fun to eat by digging out the meat. Give a good chew (not much meat though) and the fermented bean curd dip was very salty but so good!

Guess how much is the bill? My boss said he afraid that he didn't carry enough cash for the bill, but luckily the total amount is about RM1000+ for two tables.
