Bangkok Trip, Nov' 08

Another working trip to Bangkok on the same assignment. But, set a side about the work related issue. Let's me bring you to a famous restaurant in Bangkok. You must try it when you travel to Bangkok.
Somboon Seafood Restaurant is well known in Bangkok. They have 5 branches which are located at Bantadthong, Surawang, Ratchada, UdomSuk and SamYan. The one that i visited is located at Ratchada.

This outlet is located right next to a Subway station named "Huay Kwang", exit 3. The Former Japan's Prime Minister, Mr Junichiro Koizumi and also Japan's Prince Akishino visited this outlet before. Gone through the menu with a lot of attractive photos, no doubt it will makes us greedy to order more that we afford to finish. The temptation to taste is driving us crazy and trust me, you will forget about DIET.

They offers different type of prawns and crabs. I like to eat prawn. So i ordered the Stir fried fresh water prawn in garlic and chili.

What an impressive prompt service! Within 10 minutes, the dishes that we ordered is served one by one onto our table, even though they are a lot of patrons on that night.

umhh! My favourite fresh raw oysters. In Bangkok, the oyster is served with vege, garlic, chili and lime. I like it so much.

Stir fried fresh water prawn with garlic and chili is fantastic!! The prawn meat is fresh and sweet. Thumbs up! You will know when you experience it.

No hassle to remove the prawn shells, as normally i will ask whoever sit next to me to help me to remove the shell.

Fried curry crab is the signature dish in SomBoon Seafood restuarant. You must try this!

When i said this is a tomyam kung, a lot of my friends doesn't believe it coz there are no red chilis floating in the soup. But trust me, this is better than the red chili tomyam. I can't take hot and spicy tomyam, so this is just right for me.

Look at the fish head, he looks so fierce!! Not my choice anyway, but i know it's tasty too.

The night is still young after the dinner, therefore i took a short walk to the night market nearby the hotel. See what i got in my lens? This stall is selling all kind of bugs. After asking the permission to take a few photos, here we can take a closer look at these deep fried crunchy bugs.

Walk through the street, there are plenty of stalls selling clothes, accessories, handbags, food, drinks, shoes and so on.

Looking at the food that they sell along the street, sorry to say that i have no guts to try, as hygiene is the top priority to me.MBK is one of the major shopping malls in Bangkok. They closed early before 8pm. But, there are a lot of stalls lined along the bridge to the BTS. People are selling all kind of stuffs for instance t-shirts, accesories, hangbags, belts and so on. They have even a gang of youth performing street dance and hip hop.
A chinese opened a Smile Restaurant in Suthisan Road. I ordered the pork rib mee. The soup is good but the portion is too big for me, and of cause i can't finish it.

From far, it looks like mee, but it's actually a kind of seaweed salad with chili and vinegar. It's good for health.

The main entrance of the Smile Restaurant. The chef will make the mee with his pair of hands after received order(s). I spent most of the busy time in the office. I can't really have a time to look out from the office room from 29th floor high rise building. At one afternoon, i realized that how beautiful is Bangkok from the window.

Boiyoke sky is the tallest building in Bangkok. I used my camera to zoom in into my lens. Boiyoke Sky is rising 88 storey (309meter) above the bangkok skyline. So much memory to see this building where i had a wonderful time with my loved ones at Boiyoke Sky Restauant which located at 76th floor, and enjoyed the bangkok night view from the Observation Deck on 77th floor, followed by a drink at Revolving View Point on 84th floor.
I arrived at the airport one hour before departure time. Luckily, i managed to get my boarding pass. Before enter the boarding gate, i grabbed a box of Anthon Berg liquor filled dark choc for my fellow colleagues. Anthon Berg Liquor Filled Chocolates are known throughout the world as some of the finest and most delicous tasting Liquor filled chocolates around.

Every time i visit Bangkok, i gained new experiences. There was a small incident happened on the first night after i returned to the hotel. I noticed that my international passport is gone! I was so panic coz without it i can't go back to KL. Luckily, i found it. The Receptionist forgot to return to me after i checked in to the room and i was in the hurry to rush for a meeting in the office. Hwwuuuii..... lucky!
After returned home, i need to adjust my mental clock. First night at home on my own bed, my mind has a lot of flash back on people speaking Thai. OMG!...what an influence!!
