Bali_ Day 1 : Chinese New Year's Eve 2009

The flight was delayed for about one hour. After i met my sister in Bali Airport, we proceed to the Mercure Hotel. There were a lot of taxi drivers approached to offer their service, but i prefer to buy the taxi coupon at the taxi counter at Rps 50,000.00.
It was about 8.30pm after we checked in to Mercure Hotel and i was starved! Finally, we had our dinner at Made's Warung.
It's Eve of Chinese New Year where every family has their reunion dinner at home, where else my elder sister and i were having our dinner here.
I pampered my taste buds with the sping roll (shrimp) and sate babi, and chicken in papaya soup for my main course. Where else, my sister ordered "nasi goreng udang". The food is good, but do not espect an excellence service from the waiter. You will be disappointed.
From the warung, we walked back to the hotel. We passed by Hard Rock cafe and hotel, as well as the merchandise shop. After the dinner, we're tired after the long hours journey. Therefore, before the clock points to 12 midnite, we both are fall asleep on the bed!..and i can hear my sister snores :-(
Sorry, dad & mum, coz we didn't practise the 守岁(Shou Sui) whereby members of the family gather around throughout the night after the reunion dinner and reminisce about the year that has passed while welcoming the year that has arrived. This is because some believe that children who Shou Sui will increase the longevity of the parents.

Tips for traveler to Bali- Rupiah is widely used and accepted in Bali. Do prepare small denomination of rupiah for tips, in case. Normally the locals will ask for tips after they offered their service such as handling your baggage, call a blue bird taxi and so on. They even will ask for tips, if you forgot to give.
